National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a noble academic initiative envisioned at the national level, aiming to bridge the gap between academic institutions and society. It serves as an educational platform for students' personality development through community service. The fundamental idea behind NSS is to broaden the scope of higher education by integrating community service into the academic experience. This initiative aims to instill social consciousness among students by fostering meaningful connections between the campus and the community, particularly in rural areas. At the heart of the programme lies the principle that it is student-driven, allowing both students and teachers to engage collaboratively in social service activities and develop a sense of contribution tonational development.

Dr. Ramila Devi P.R. and Dr. Jibin Baby currently serve as program officers for units previously overseen by esteemed leaders like Sobhendran Sir. Their focus includes activities dedicated to nature conservation, addressing critical societal concerns. Sobhindran Mash, who also served as the National Service Scheme Program Officer, played a pivotal role in fostering students' appreciation for nature and humanity through NSS activities. Additionally, he spearheaded the installation of sculptures across the campus, not limited to trees alone. Notably, the Bodhichuvat Buddha statue stands out as one of the most renowned sculptures on the campus. Additionally, they are actively involved in promoting and organizing blood donation initiatives, making impactful interventions in this field.
