The NSS Unit of Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College recently conducted a seven-day camp named 'Kathal' at Ariyallur Higher Secondary School from December 22nd to December 28th, 2023. The camp was centered around 'Sneharama Nirmanam,' a part of Kerala Government’s 'Malinya Muktha Keralam' initiative. The camp also featured a beach cleaning project, demonstrating the volunteers' commitment to environmental preservation.

In another significant initiative, on April 24, 2022, the NSS Unit led a cleaning project at the heavily polluted Mampuzha River in Perumanna Grama Panchayat, titled 'Thelineerozhukum Navakeralam.' This effort, aimed at rejuvenating the river, was inaugurated by Panchayat President Shaji Puthalath and marked an essential step toward environmental sustainability.

The NSS volunteers further participated in the International Beach Cleanup Day on September 17, 2022, by cleaning Beypore Beach as part of a mega beach cleaning drive organized under the Swatch Sagar Surakshit Sagar Campaign, in coordination with the Kerala Forest and Wildlife Department and Social Forestry Division, Kozhikode.

Additionally, on October 13, 2022, the NSS Unit cleaned Kottapparambu Hospital as part of the 'Shujithwa Kerala Mission,' contributing to public health and cleanliness. A mass cleaning campaign, involving 130 volunteers, was also undertaken at Pokkunnu, alongside the creation of a roadside flower garden. This effort was carried out in collaboration with local merchants, Harithakrama Sena volunteers, Kudumbasree units, and residents' associations, highlighting the NSS Unit’s ongoing dedication to community service.
