Services

The Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College Library provides a comprehensive range of services designed to meet the diverse informational needs of its users. These include circulation services, reference services, electronic information services, digital library access, and reprography services. The library is committed to supporting academic and research excellence through its wide array of resources and user-focused offerings.

Membership: Library membership is available exclusively to current students, research scholars, and staff members of the college, ensuring tailored access to a wealth of academic resources and services.

Working Hours: The library operates from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with book circulation services available between 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM.

Automation and OPAC: In 2017, the library transitioned to an automated system using the open-source software 'Koha.' This upgrade included the introduction of an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC), allowing users to conveniently browse the library's collection, replacing the traditional card catalogue system for enhanced accessibility and efficiency.

Book Circulation Policy:

The library circulates books among its registered members in accordance with the borrowing privileges assigned to each category. Members are eligible to borrow books as per the following guidelines:

Digital Resources and Multimedia Collection:

In addition to its physical holdings, the library offers access to a wide range of digital and multimedia resources, including:

  • E-books: 164,000 (available through N-List)
  • E-journals: 6,150 (available through N-List)
  • CDs: 169

These resources provide users with extensive online access to academic and research materials, further enhancing the learning experience and supporting scholarly work.

ICT LAB

The ICT Lab in the Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College Library is designed to enhance digital literacy and provide users with seamless access to electronic resources. The lab is equipped with state-of-the-art technology to support research, academic activities, and information retrieval. Key facilities include:

  • High-Speed Internet Access: The lab is equipped with high-speed internet connectivity, enabling users to access online databases, e-books, e-journals, and other digital resources efficiently.
