The inauguration of the English Department Association of Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College was held on Monday, 30 January, at 10:45 a.m. in the Seminar Hall of the college. The programme marked the formal commencement of the activities of the English Association for the academic year.

 

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Neha Pradeep, a third-year student, who extended a cordial welcome to the dignitaries and the audience. The function was presided over by Dr. Arya Gopi, Head of the PG and Research Department of English, who delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the significance of such academic initiatives.

 

The chief guest for the occasion was Viswas Viswam K.C., Assistant Professor at Government Arts and Science College, Meenchandha. He formally inaugurated the programme and delivered an insightful address on the importance of education and language. A token of appreciation was presented to the chief guest as a gesture of gratitude.

 

The felicitation addresses were delivered by Dr. Sreeshylam Unnikrishnan, Head of the Malayalam Department, Afrin, Vice Chairperson of the College Students Union, and Nihad, Magazine Editor of the College Students Union. Their remarks added depth and encouragement to the occasion.

 

Certificates were distributed to students who secured first, second, and third positions in the college fine arts competitions, in recognition of their achievements.

 

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ilfa Kanneth, who expressed sincere gratitude to all dignitaries, participants, and organizers for contributing to the success of the event.

 

 The inauguration programme was conducted in a well-organized manner and marked a promising beginning for the activities of the English Association.
