Talk on "National Integration and Communal Harmony" by Sri. Rangeesh Kadavath (ASI, Control Room, Kerala Police, Nadapuram) Organized by All India Women's Conference (AIWC) Kozhikode Branch- Suvarna

An Awareness Programme on National Integration and Communal Harmony was organized by All India Women’s Conference (AIWC), Kozhikode Branch (Suvarna) in association with NSS ZGC Unit on 18 December 2025 at 10.30 a.m. in the Research Centre Auditorium, Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, Kozhikode. The programme aimed at promoting unity, social harmony, and national integration among students and the academic community.

 

The programme commenced with a prayer by Dr. Meera P. I., Head, Department of Hindi. This was followed by a welcome address delivered by Dr. V. T. Padmaja, Secretary, Suvarna, AIWC, Kozhikode Branch. Smt. Bhuvaneswari Ravindran, President, Suvarna, AIWC, Kozhikode Branch, addressed the gathering and highlighted the relevance of national integration in contemporary society.

 

An address by Dr. Rugmini Ammal, Head, Department of Chemistry, Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, emphasized the role of educational institutions in fostering communal harmony. The resource person was formally introduced by Smt. Lakshmi Bai, Treasurer, Suvarna.

The key session of the programme was a talk on “National Integration and Communal Harmony” by Sri Rangeesh Kadavath, Assistant Sub Inspector, Control Room, Nadapuram. The talk was highly informative and engaging, focusing on the importance of unity, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence in a diverse nation like India. An interactive session and quiz followed, in which students participated enthusiastically.

 

The programme also included a token of appreciation and felicitation presented by Smt. Santha R. Nair, Patron, Suvarna, AIWC, Kozhikode. As part of the green initiative linked to the programme, plants were donated to the Nature Club for the Butterfly Garden and campus greening by MIC Climate Change/Secretary, and were received by Dr. Rugmini Ammal and Dr. Anoop K., Assistant Professor, Department of Botany.

 

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Shri Abhinav, National Service Scheme Secretary, followed by the National Anthem. Refreshments were arranged for the participants, after which the gathering proceeded to the Butterfly Garden. The programme was successful in sensitizing students and participants to the values of national integration and communal harmony, leaving a strong message of unity and social responsibility.
