Awaaz Students Union and Centre for Career Guidance Successfully Organize 'Job Fest 2024'

14th March 2024, Kozhikode: The Awaaz Students Union, in collaboration with the Centre for Career Guidance, hosted the highly anticipated 'Job Fest 2024' at The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College on 14th March 2024. The event saw an overwhelming response, with over 700 student registrations and 35+ reputed companies participating from various sectors. The fest resulted in 150+ students being shortlisted for jobs, making it one of the most successful employment events in the college’s history.

The Job Fest began with an inaugural ceremony led by the college principal, Dr. B. Rajani, who commended the Awaaz Students Union and the Centre for Career Guidance for organizing such a large-scale event. Dr. Rajani emphasized the significance of job fairs in creating direct opportunities for students and fostering career growth. "This platform not only connects students to potential employers but also prepares them for the competitive job market," she said during her address.

The event drew participation from a diverse range of industries, including information technology, banking, healthcare, education, and hospitality, offering students a wide array of job opportunities. Companies conducted interviews, aptitude tests, and group discussions, with many expressing appreciation for the quality of candidates they encountered. Throughout the day, students were actively engaged in the recruitment processes, showcasing their skills and professionalism.

Out of the 700+ participants, over 150 students were successfully shortlisted for various roles, with several students receiving immediate job offers. Employers were impressed by the preparedness and talent of the students, many of whom were final-year students eager to kickstart their careers.

In addition to the recruitment drives, the event offered career counseling sessions and guidance from industry experts. The Centre for Career Guidance had conducted pre-fest workshops in resume writing, interview preparation, and career planning, ensuring students were well-equipped to make a positive impression on potential employers.

The president of the Awaaz Students Union expressed pride in the success of Job Fest 2024, thanking the participating companies, students, and faculty for their support. "The large turnout and the number of students shortlisted demonstrate the effectiveness of the collaboration between the union and the Centre for Career Guidance in creating meaningful employment opportunities for students."
