29th February 2024, Kozhikode: The Awaaz Students Union of The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College successfully organized the 'Devan Sir Memorial Inter-College Invitation Football Tournament' from 26th to 29th February 2024. The highly anticipated tournament brought together top college football teams from across the region, competing in a series of thrilling matches that showcased exceptional talent and sportsmanship.

The tournament kicked off on 26th February 2024 with an inauguration ceremony led by the college principal, Dr. B. Rajani. In her opening remarks, Dr. Rajani highlighted the significance of sports in education, emphasizing how tournaments like these foster teamwork, discipline, and a healthy competitive spirit among students.

Over the course of four days, football teams from various colleges displayed remarkable skill, energy, and determination on the field. The matches attracted enthusiastic crowds of students and sports enthusiasts, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere on the college campus.

The tournament concluded on 29th February 2024 with a grand closing ceremony, inaugurated by Dr. B. Rajani and graced by the chief guest, Sri. Rahul P., a distinguished alumnus of The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, who represented Calicut University and Kerala in various football competitions. In his address, Sri. Rahul P. shared his experiences as a football player and the role of college tournaments in shaping his career. He encouraged students to pursue their passion for sports while maintaining a balance with academics.

The final match of the tournament saw an intense battle between the two best-performing teams, culminating in a thrilling finish. The winners were awarded the prestigious Devan Sir Memorial Trophy, along with individual medals and certificates for outstanding players.
