24th November 2023, Kozhikode: The Awaaz Students Union of The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College organized an impactful 'CLEAN UP ZGC' campaign on 24th November 2023. The initiative was a resounding success, with hundreds of students, faculty members, and staff coming together to clean the college premises and promote environmental awareness.

The campaign kicked off at 9 AM with an inauguration ceremony at the main entrance, presided over by the college principal, who lauded the students’ efforts in promoting cleanliness and sustainability on campus. The participants, armed with cleaning tools, gloves, and biodegradable trash bags, worked diligently to clean various areas, including the front campus, classrooms, laboratories, gardens, and common spaces.

Speaking at the event, the president of the Awaaz Students Union emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and green environment in educational institutions and urged fellow students to take responsibility for the upkeep of their surroundings. "Through this campaign, we aim to foster a sense of environmental consciousness and personal responsibility among our peers," the union president said.

In addition to the cleanup activities, the event included educational sessions on waste segregation, recycling, and sustainable practices. Volunteers were stationed at various points around the campus to guide participants and ensure proper disposal of waste.

The 'CLEAN UP ZGC' campaign was widely praised by both students and faculty members, who expressed their hope that this would become an annual tradition at the college. By the end of the day, the campus shone with a renewed sense of cleanliness and environmental commitment.

This initiative marks another successful endeavor by the Awaaz Students Union in promoting student engagement and community-driven action at The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College.
