Awaaz Students Union Organizes 'KALAI' Fine Arts Fest

Kozhikode, 21st December 2024: The Awaaz Students Union of The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College successfully hosted the much-awaited 'KALAI' Fine Arts Fest from 12th to 21st December 2024. The event, which spanned over two phases—off-stage competitions from 12th to 14th December and on-stage events from 19th to 21st December—culminated in a grand valedictory function inaugurated by the renowned cultural icon and Padma Shri awardee, Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri, on 21st December 2024.

The festival kicked off with off-stage competitions, including creative writing, painting, photography, and poetry, which saw enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. These events highlighted the diverse talents of the students and set the stage for the main festivities.

The on-stage performances, held from 19th to 21st December, included vibrant competitions in music, dance, drama, and literary arts. The campus came alive with energy as students showcased their artistic skills in front of packed audiences. The competitions were judged by a panel of distinguished artists and experts from various fields.

The highlight of the festival was the valedictory function, held on the final day, which was graced by the presence of Padma Shri Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri. In his inspiring address, Kaithapram emphasized the importance of fine arts in shaping an individual's personality and fostering creativity among the youth. He praised the students for their talent and encouraged them to continue pursuing their artistic passions.

The festival concluded with the distribution of awards to the winners of various events, followed by cultural performances that celebrated the spirit of creativity and collaboration. The Awaaz Students Union president expressed gratitude to the participants, judges, and organizers for making 'KALAI' Fine Arts Fest 2024 a grand success and promised more such enriching events in the future.
