  • 05 Jun / 2025

In a vibrant celebration of World Environment Day 2025, The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College undertook a series of impactful initiatives promoting environmental awareness and action. The celebrations commenced with the ceremonial planting of a fruit tree on the college campus by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Rajani B. This symbolic act, organized under the aegis of the college’s Nature Club and Bhoomithrasena Club, reaffirmed the institution's unwavering commitment to sustainability and ecological responsibility.

As part of the day’s events, a spirited Flash Mob was conducted at two major public venues—Calicut Beach and Lulumal. The Flash Mob, orchestrated by the Department of Forest and Wildlife in collaboration with the Nature Club and Bhoomithrasena Club, was performed by the enthusiastic students of the Department of Botany. With captivating choreography and powerful messaging, the Flash Mob attracted significant public attention, spreading the theme of this year’s Environment Day—“Restore Our Earth”—to a wider audience.

The event successfully combined creativity, student participation, and environmental consciousness, leaving a lasting impression on both campus and community. It underscored the vital role of youth and educational institutions in driving positive environmental change. The college’s World Environment Day celebrations were not just a tribute to nature but a call to collective action, echoing the global need to nurture and protect our planet for future generations.
