Awareness Programme on Cyber Security and Drug-Free Society

8th August 2024, Kozhikode: The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of The Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College organized an enlightening awareness programme on Cyber Security and Drug-Free Society for the First-Year Undergraduate (FYUG) students on 8th August 2024. The session was led by Mr. Umesh Nanminda, the Janamaithri Beat Officer of Kasaba Police Station, Kozhikode City.

The event aimed to equip the students with crucial knowledge about the importance of cyber security in today's digital age and the necessity of maintaining a drug-free lifestyle. Mr. Nanminda, with his extensive experience in law enforcement, provided valuable insights into the current cyber threats that students might encounter and practical measures to safeguard their digital identities. He also highlighted the growing concern of drug abuse among youth and the legal and social consequences associated with it.

The interactive session saw active participation from the students, who raised various queries about cyber safety practices and the role they can play in promoting a drug-free society. Mr. Nanminda encouraged the students to be vigilant in their online activities and to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse within their communities.

The programme was well-received by the attendees, who expressed their gratitude to the IQAC and the college administration for organizing such a timely and relevant session. The Principal of the college emphasized the importance of such initiatives in shaping responsible and aware citizens.
