12th September 2024, Kozhikode: The Department of Mathematics at The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College proudly inaugurated its newly constructed staffroom on 12th September 2024 in a ceremonial event. The inauguration was led by the respected manager of the college, Ms. Maya Govind, who officially opened the facility by lighting the ceremonial lamp. The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Mr. R. Muralee Subramanian, a former esteemed faculty member of the department, along with several former faculty members and PTA Vice President, Mr. Vijayan M.C.

Ms. Maya Govind, in her speech, expressed her appreciation for the efforts put into enhancing the college’s infrastructure and emphasized the importance of providing a comfortable space for faculty to work and collaborate. She noted that this new staffroom would serve as a hub for academic growth and interaction, benefiting both teachers and students.

The chief guest, Mr. R. Muralee Subramanian, reminisced about his tenure in the Mathematics Department and praised the current administration for continuing to prioritize the welfare of its faculty. He expressed his delight at seeing the department grow and evolve over the years and highlighted how such improvements contribute to the academic excellence of the institution.

The ceremony was attended by many former faculty members of the Mathematics Department, who were visibly moved by the progress and modernization of their former workplace. PTA Vice President, Mr. Vijayan M.C., also addressed the gathering, commending the administration’s initiative to upgrade the facilities and ensuring that the faculty have a conducive environment to thrive.

Mrs. Krishnaveni, the head of the Mathematics Department, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the college management for their unwavering support in making the new staffroom a reality. She noted that the new space would encourage collaboration and innovation among the department's faculty, further enhancing their ability to contribute to the academic success of the students.
